Creation of Peeled: Step 2

step 3 of 11

I opened a new layer and painted it with black color.

Creation of Peeled: Step 3

step 4 of 11

With lasso tool, I took a peeled orange image, copied, pasted and masked it.

Creation of Peeled: Step 4

step 5 of 11

Using the same tool and process, I got a orange slice and positioned on the first orange, to simulate a cut one.

Creation of Peeled: Step 5

step 6 of 11

I copied, pasted and masked the source image; resized in oval shape.

Creation of Peeled: Step 6

step 7 of 11

I duplicated the oval ball layer, and changed the hue, saturation, to approximate the color from the orange; put the layer under the green ball.

Creation of Peeled: Step 7

step 8 of 11

I used a tutorial (in Portuguese) as a reference; but there they say to erase some parts of the subject. I preferred to use mask layers, because it's easy to fix when something goes wrong. Here I had to simulate the orange peel cut, taking care of outside part (green) and inside part.

Creation of Peeled: Step 8

step 9 of 11

I added the hand using a mask, as if it was pulling the peel; changed the color to a skin tone.

Creation of Peeled: Step 9

step 10 of 11

I selected the hand, copied and pasted; turned it into black, put some blur and lowered the opacity, and made a shadow. After I added one more orange, to fill the scene.

Creation of Peeled: Step 10

step 11 of 11

I added a shadow for the main orange; after that I duplicated the layers of the peel and merged them; rotated 90º and resized. For all layers of the peel I put bevel and emboss effect.
