These are personal family photos of my dad's. He played sax in the Army Ground Forces band in WWII in France. His unit was 'attached' to a hospital, playing for soldiers, both wounded and not. That's him, Jesse, 2nd from the right in the first row.

This band that my dad played with entered a contest, competing with other bands throughout Europe, and won - the prize was a week in Paris, and that week turned into 11 months, they were that good! Then the war ended, and they came home. This particular photo was taken at a dance that enjoyed guest appearances by Marlene Dietrich (singer/acress) and Eric Von Stroheim (actor).

This is a personal photo by my youngest brother, an architect in Miami, taken in 2005.

This is another shot of the same building, almost the same angle. I combined the two of them to remove the van and bicycle, removed the sky and added a gradient layer behind to simulate a sunset on the beach, then added the vintage car. Finally, I removed the original sign on the building and 'installed' my own.
