THe box base created by
1/ selecting a sq and filling it
2 duplicating the layer and using the :->edit->transform->distort.
twice for top and side
step 3 of 6
I brought in the pattern into the file I was using and treated the pattern in a similar way first cutting out the box front side then the top and warping it slightly.
the box side I treated slightly differently as you can see.
After this I used the Dodge and Burn tool to give it a little shape.
step 4 of 6
The ribbon was created by using the square selector and a gradient. duplicating the layer and manipulating it using: Transform tools.
I duplicated the box and added the filter-embossed setting that to overlay for a bit more textural depth.
step 5 of 6
I ha quite a bit of trouble cutting around the spruce needles eventually reducing it to the using the >layer Mask : several times. The reason for this was because of the softness of the focus in the background of the blue spruce which I had difficulty matching to the edge of the box.
step 6 of 6
The card was simple - I selected the inside card and then created another layer behind using the same marque expanded by 110%. The fill is a texture from Photoshop. Then a little use of the burn and dodge tool to complete the job.
