i started by cutting the Iron sun out of the background into its own layer

Then I cut the iron sun up into several layers and naming them, one for each body part by using the lasso lasso tool.

once everything was on its separate layer i could free transform, rotate, and warp to position the Iron sun in a sitting pose
step 4 of 7
going back to the background layer i then used the stamp to change the background a bit
step 5 of 7
then i created a new layer and selected a light blue foreground color and white as background, then i used the filter, render-clouds to create a sky...then free transformed it down to the right size and touched up the bottom with the eraser tool to blend it in with the background layer
step 6 of 7
then i copied and pasted the rock from the original image and using the clone stamp tool i made it longer then airbrushed a shadow on a new layer and played with the opacity
step 7 of 7
then i just drew an ipod type silhouette in a new layer and pasted the same bag of chips from the original background layer onto his other hand...
