step 1 of 5
using the pen tool i selected and cut everything up into separate layers
step 2 of 5
then used filters to give it a texture and free transformed a duplicate to wrap around the original layers to shape it back down to the original size using the 'warp' feature from the free transform menu
step 3 of 5
repeated the same steps to create a head and eye for the snake
step 4 of 5
cut up the 'stem' into sections with individual layers then reshaped them by using free transform and warp
step 5 of 5
once i had the shape of the snake together i then drew tongue with the pen and brush tools
