I added a Hue/Saturation layer and a Levels layer for the coloring, and two curves layers: a really light one and a really dark one. I went in and brushed out sections in the curves layers to make it pop.

Put our sun friend in the background.

Did some detailing around the feet with brushes and added shadows and places where the dirt pushed up around the feet.

Did some color work for the background with curves and hue/saturation layers. I also created dark and light curves layers and brushed in affected areas. I painted in the footprints with brushes as well as highlights on the metal.
