This guide was made for entry:
Horsefly
In Contest:
jockey
Original image
step 1 of 8
set a plain blue background and used cloud brushes to paint clouds over the top.
adjusted hue and saturation
step 2 of 8
selected and copied the horse, then used the patch selection to take out the jokey and the saddle.
step 3 of 8
patch healing detail
step 4 of 8
used wing brush in a new screen over a black background then free transformed to rotate into the right position.
step 5 of 8
copied and pasted wing into background and started overlaying color.
step 6 of 8
added horse and other wing--desaturated horse layer and then started overlaying color.
the back hooves ended up getting really blurry so i'll have to figure out how to cover that up.
step 7 of 8
added an extra layer of clouds to hide the blurry mess of back hooves. :P
step 8 of 8
i did this just to show the extra blending done to make that wing look more like part of the horse and not like it was just stamped on top of it. :-)
