Stacked copies of boat on top of each other. Also painted some shadows.

Distorted a boat

Painted inside of distorted boat.

Painted over the boats to make it more realistic.

Painted the green object using the pen tool + brushes.

Distorted it in place. Added some glow.

Started the planet by creating a circle object and filling it with random brush strokes and effects.

I then distorted it to give it a spherical shape.

Painted planet's shadow. Added glow using layer effects.

Painted first window.

Copied the window & pasted two more. Also added some glow to the windows.
