Fill in with base colour, still using hard brush and using the eyedropper tool, pick colour from reference pic, as accurate as you can.
step 3 of 14
On a new layer, now using soft brush. Add base colour (finalizing slowly slowly) and smudge, smudge, smudge.
As I go, I add colour lighter, darker and smudge.
step 4 of 14
Start doing the keys...
step 5 of 14
After a lot of painting, and smudging ( I always like a very smooth result- not too many brush strokes) that is why I also smudge using a soft brush...
So get a smooth result to the whole image, then will add highlights.
step 6 of 14
Add details around the keys, fingers...
step 7 of 14
Add highlights to keys on a new layer, using soft brush with white on it and smudging for various shades.
step 8 of 14
Add shadow of finger, again on separate layer- soft brush and smudge.
Create finger nail for the other finger soft brush-white sketch and smudge.
step 9 of 14
To create skin texture (the finger print)
start to draw on a new layer, strokes of lighter and darker skin tone (use reference for help) this will then be smudged and highlights will be added.
step 10 of 14
Start to smudge. Be patient, cause it takes long to get it right!
step 11 of 14
Using a hard brush now, smudge horizontally to create the skin creases onto the finger.
step 12 of 14
Do the same thing with the other finger (yes, it;s quite mundane, but be patient)
step 13 of 14
On a new layer, using a soft brush with white, 3px
Add some dots onto the skin and smudge this slightly with a soft brush.
These are the highlights/reflections of the light, that hits the finger...
step 14 of 14
Repeat the process on the tip of the finger and on the top of it. and on the second finger on the side.
