Used the green layer to work on. Because it has good contrast and brightness. Duplicated it.
step 3 of 12
Used filter-surface blur to smooth out the face, leaving the hair intact.
step 4 of 12
created a new layer with fill-50% grey. That shall be our colour for the coin.
step 5 of 12
Used filter- lightning effects. Now in the drop box i used to apply it on the green copy layer. And unchecked the "white high"box, so it would not look carved out.
Freestyle settings here.
step 6 of 12
Now, i cut out the coin shape with elliptical marquee tool and created a new layer.
step 7 of 12
New layer with fill - white. This shall be the background for picture.
step 8 of 12
Now i wanted to add a border to the coin. I selected the coin with ctrl-layer and then used select - modify - contract, so i could contract the selection by 40 pxls.
step 9 of 12
After contracting, i inverted the selection and used ctrl+j to create a new layer. So now i got a ring layer separated from the coin.
step 10 of 12
Used bevel and emboss blending to get a nice embossed effect. Used circular light source.
step 11 of 12
Added text and used the same blending an tit, just changed the circular light source to upper left.
step 12 of 12
Some final touches to the coin, and at the end i added a reflection of the coin. finish.
You really should turn this into a tutorial, great work all around!
