I layered and blended the flat parts of the source to create a stone sheet and then, using the magic wand and a mask, created a silhouette of the model.
step 2 of 6
Using the stone sheet and the elliptical marquee tool, I made the stone ball. I used a displacement map to make the statue. As I was working on this, I used various adjustment layers to add shadow and light.
step 3 of 6
I used Select > Color Range > Quick mask to isolate the grasses and then adjustment layers to alter the light and dark.
step 4 of 6
I used brightness/contrast and hue/saturation adjustment layers.
step 5 of 6
After uploading, but not publishing, my entry, I checked to see that the links were working correctly. That's when I discovered that my original moon picture had restrictions I didn't have time to meet. So, with a few choice words and a disgusted sigh for my inattentiveness, I replaced and reworked the moon background, using brightness/contrast, hue/saturation and color balance adjustment layers on the new images.
step 6 of 6
A little more tweaking. The final image has color overlay on the stone and then a low opacity color overlay on the whole works.
