Sections of old mill source photo are lassoed first and moved into a new canvas.
step 3 of 12
Here are the steps used to make sides to create a birdhouse.
step 4 of 12
This is the finished birdhouse which has been color changed (hue/sat tool), and noise filter is added.
step 5 of 12
Here are the steps for creating the flower blossom, which is then shaped into various shapes using distort, rotate and scale tools. Some of the individual blossoms will be used later, but larger flower head is also formed with a number of the individual blossoms. Some burning for shadows is done now, more will be done later.
step 6 of 12
There is already a birdhouse on the source with the fence, but I want to use the one made from the mill sos that the source is evident. I didn't tilt the new one as much as the original one was as it threw the whole image off balance when at a tilt.
step 7 of 12
From a piece of the old mill source sky, the bluebird is sketched in with a pen and tablet. (Can be done with mouse.)
step 8 of 12
Some sprays of several shades of blue are added to the sketch here.
step 9 of 12
With most of the drawing and painting done, the bluebird is chopped and trimmed up with a small eraser tool at a close zoom setting.
step 10 of 12
Bluebird is duplicated, with new one being flipped horizontally and some changes in shape made with distort tool, and also some changes to its back with smudge and paint tools. A shadow is added to the bird house coming from the bird.
step 11 of 12
Stems and leaves are drawn in where flower heads will be placed using the brush tool. Burn and dodge tools create shadows and more shape.
step 12 of 12
Green bushes are extended to right side of bird house with cloning tool, then small, individual blossoms are added in different sizes, keeping larger ones lower and small ones nearer the top. Work is finished by adding any shadows to help give better shape and shadows where needed.
