Change the light distribution by paint over with overlay mode, make the bottom dark and the top bright

Put the octopus machine and the girl onto the upper layer

Make the shadow and light more dramatic by paint over with black and white brush, using the overlay and soft light blending mode

I used PTS CS5 with the puppet wrap tool. Use this tool, I can bend the basement of the machine fitted to the octopus.

Colorize this image to the blue color, reduce the opacity, make the transparent zone beyond him.
Draw the light comes from the eyes of the machine, reduce the opacity

Duplicate the father layer, use Motion blur effect, then Sharpen effect, blend with the beyond layer by Screen blending mode

Make a top layer with Overlay blending mode to control the light, darkness on the overall image
