Using metal from the source and the hand as a guide, I created the skeletal hand. I used Layer > Layer Style > Drop shadow to shade and then dodge on the balls to high light.
step 2 of 11
This is what it looked like after I'd finished the and.
step 3 of 11
I layered and blended the source to get a large piece, then used a color balance adjustment layer to color it. I used a layer mask to shape it to the hand.
step 4 of 11
This is what the hand looked like after I covered it. I made a copy of the skin and placed it under the skeletal frame.
step 5 of 11
I started adding shadows and high lights using levels adjustment layers.
step 6 of 11
After finishing the shadows and high lights.
step 7 of 11
I used distort to make the source skinny, then Filter > Distort > Wave to ripple it. Color balance was used to change it to the different colors, except for the light one, which was inverted.
After placing sections of the wire, I used drop shadow to shade it.
step 8 of 11
After I arranged all the wires, I used Layer > Layer Style > Inner Glow to give the wires stripes on the edges. This is what the wiring looks like without the top layer of skin.
step 9 of 11
I used distort to shrink the source for the butterfly body, then a layer mask to shape it. I used distort and warp on the source to make the wings and brightness/contrast to lighten the top wings. I painted in the legs and antennae.
step 10 of 11
I greatly distorted the source for the background, then used brightness/contrast adjustment layers to make the light streak.
step 11 of 11
The mod has asked me to post permission for use of the hand source. I have asked and hopefully, I will receive. In the meantime, I hope this screen shot from her rules will suffice.
