selected a skull and overlayed it to get the positioning right.
step 2 of 9
MY OWN SOURCE PHOTO
step 3 of 9
overlay a piece of my own stock photo as a texture on the skull..using blending mode "hard light"
step 4 of 9
duplicated face layer, and pulled it to be the top layer.
did some light burning to give shaded look to the skin. deepened the black rings around the eyes.
then..went about tearing off part of her jaw/cheek, which allowed the skull and teeth to show through.
step 5 of 9
added king worm to the gash in the cheek. did some shadowing underneath it.
step 6 of 9
burned out all the color in the eyes. turned them black, and then added a white highlight.
did a new layer, and painted in veins in the face. lowered the opacity and blurred them to blend better. then set the blending mode to "overlay"
step 7 of 9
using brushes, its time to start adding some decay.
done on a seperate layer set to "hard light" blending mode.
step 8 of 9
step 9 of 9
did some burning to bring out the collar bones, added another decay spot on her chest, and then used a dried blood splatter brush to give the dirty spots on her dress.
link below is for the brushes as i forgot them in the upload on the piece.
