First the source kitchen photo is liquify warped for the background. Just a portion of this will be selected and enlarged, then a gradient layer will be used.
step 2 of 11
Here the section to be used has been cropped and a blue gradient layer is added, then reduced in opacity enough to allow source background to come through .
step 3 of 11
Lid from utensil is chopped, then cut in half, duplicated, then merged together.
step 4 of 11
Burner ring is chopped and placed under the utensil after scaling to fit, then merged together .
step 5 of 11
A wall tile is chopped and distorted with edit/transform/distort tool until the perspective works with the lid and base just created.
step 6 of 11
Here the butterfly is being created from a small section from kitchen source photo using the liquify warp tool to get basic shape, then smudge and eraser tools to finish off edges.
step 7 of 11
Body is made from same source section, then parts are merged together and feelers made with smudge tool.
step 8 of 11
Flower parts are made from a white section of wall, petals are set into place using rotate tool to turn pieces as needed, parts are merged, then stamens formed and added. Shading on flowers will be done later with dodge and burn tools.
step 9 of 11
Here are steps to forming another flower from the same piece of source photo. It is formed with liquify warp, liquify twist to right and to left, and smudge tools. A stem is pulled out with the smudge tool. This flower will be scaled smaller and used to accent larger flowers.
step 10 of 11
A tall urn is created from a knob from a pan, scaling it into an elongated shape, then a knob is added to top for a stopper. Some color is now started on flowers. Two flower stands are made using the shape of lid and pan which is duplicated twice for the two stands. Tops are trimmed down with eraser tool, rods to hold them up are made from seam between tiles (stretch with scale tool and trim with eraser tool), then flowers can be arranged on them.
step 11 of 11
Triangles, butterflies, and knobs are scattered through background and small string painted to hang them. Small stars are brushed in varying sizes. Color will be now added to butterflies and triangles as well.
