Here are the steps for creating the hanging flower blossoms. Shapes are duplicated (alt key), merged, then new merged pieces are placed to shape the lower part of the flower. Tops are made with petals from green jewel, using rotate and flip tools to place them.
step 3 of 10
The flower pot is made from the red jewel, shaping with clone tool and trimming with eraser tool, then shadowed w burn tool.
step 4 of 10
Some more green is brushed into leaves, smudge tool does more shaping, and some flowers are duplicated. Background is made with liquify warp, but I will be changing it later on to design used in flowers.
step 5 of 10
Dodge tool has now been used on the leaves to bring out highlights.
step 6 of 10
Background has been removed to change it. Pen tool has been used to add swirls which will indicate movement of hummingbirds.
step 7 of 10
New background is the same design used for flowers, but has been scaled much larger to fill in the canvas. Gradient will go behind it at end.
step 8 of 10
Hummingbird steps are shown here. Handle of fork is formed into bird shape and red jewel is rounded off and used on head. Eraser tool trims edges, paint brush adds some soft color where needed, and dodge tool helps draw in feather designs and eye.
step 9 of 10
Hummingbirds are duplicated, some scaled smaller for above planter, and some are flipped with edit/transform/flip horiz tool. Some are also rotated to get different angles. They are placed near the swirls which were made with the pen tool earlier.
step 10 of 10
A gradient in very soft pastels is added behind the background to soften it to finish the canvas.
