Sunflowers have been started. Some will be scaled larger and smaller, some flipped horizontally. Some leaves will be chopped out and added individually where needed to round out the arrangement in the pots.
step 8 of 14
Background of window and weathered wall are added. There is a pumpkin that I have added, but it will be replaced with the bumpy one and flowering plant around it. Pots have been moved into left side of foreground.
step 9 of 14
The sunflowers are placed in a sort of 'S' shape, which carries the eye through the design. Cattails and leaves have been added using the paint brush tool and eraser tool, then shaded with burn and dodge tools. These somewhat overlap the upper portion of the window which also helps the overall design. Window also had some snow on the sill, and that was removed by cloning tool.
step 10 of 14
The cat has now been chopped and added. At first he sat on a sort of rock, but I chose to put a small pile of wood there instead for him.
step 11 of 14
Since the cat needed something to be looking 'up at' I decided on a crow which worked into the fall subject matter nicely. I chose this particular one because it was looking down, therefore looks like it is staring the cat down.
step 12 of 14
Finally, all layers are merged and a gold filter is added at 40% over the entire canvas.
