First I made a pattern with one of the sections of rock that I made into a seem less pattern by making four pieces that interlocked.

This was the first shape I built. The two steps after this one, just showed the shape building as it progressed.

Finally to add a little more drama to the mandala I added some effects, using a gradient, then a lens flare, so the flare wasn't as obvious I dulled it and blended it into the gradient using a radial blur. Using a linear burn as a layer setting it added some drama to the piece.
