There were two shots taken, I've decided to use the face shot of me smiling. Composited the two shots.
step 2 of 8
Copied the stool, cut out the top, elongated the center 'pole' and extended the height. Painted a shadow under my butt and boots. Also cloned out the original table leg from my right boot.
step 3 of 8
Straightened the background photo, then matched the color of my image to the background photo.
step 4 of 8
Started adding the locomotive pieces to my goggles. Reduced the opacity of the lens (right side) here.
step 5 of 8
Imported the 'box' and used the patch tool to get rid of the '2', changed to a '5' and added layer styles.
step 6 of 8
Changed the color of the '5' to match the background image. Then also added reflection of the entire box onto the table.
step 7 of 8
Closeup of the goggles with added locomotive parts. Selected the white center part of the 'light' and added a glow.
step 8 of 8
Added a frame to the Amelia photo, distorted it to match the perspective of the wall. Did the same for the shot of her with 'old Bessie', her Lockheed Vega.
From the background image, I selected (with pen tool) the oval base, moved it to the area underneath the 'portal' for a stand, and enlarged it slightly, then erased the original. Also selected the dial device, which had the type backwards (!) and flopped it for use on the portal. With the patch tool, I also deleted a few of the distracting elements from the wall.
