slum
step 1 of 14
Started out with this scene.
step 2 of 14
Added the provisional buildings. I made 4 different buildings and duplicated them with small tweaks
step 3 of 14
Added some "slum effects". I also added the graffiti here. Planes along the wall with opacity map
step 4 of 14
Added the background, also important to make the contrast between rich and poor.
next step was to make the textures.
step 5 of 14
This was made in photoshop. It is supposed to look like graffiti, but as you can see, it looks more like some drawing made by a 6 year old:)
step 6 of 14
So it was requested to put up some more detailed SBS about the details of the buildings. So here is the first hotel:
step 7 of 14
Duplicated the floors about 20 times
step 8 of 14
Added windows by using only one mesh for all, inside the building
step 9 of 14
Added the first floor and some details on the roof.
The same method was done to all buildings with several floors
step 10 of 14
The trees. Started out with the stem, built from a simple cylinder. Adjusted with edit mesh
step 11 of 14
did a little bending there
step 12 of 14
Added the first branch
step 13 of 14
Duplicated the first branch and adjusted the size a little
step 14 of 14
added the leafs which followed a path along the branch

Actually with as much graffiti I've seen, it a pretty good match, for all the mediocre graffiti.
