Of course I had to model the Pxleyes logo.

The upper left image is the globe, complete with an outside and an inside. Immediately below that is the start of the wooden base. Top right shows the start of the legs that the globe will sit on (I considered putting a screw in the middle, but didn't). And finally, bottom right shows the liquid in the globe. The edges were modeled higher than the middle to simulate the static friction that would occur between the water and the glass.

These are a couple of self shot images for the scene. The image on the left is the backplane for the model, while the image on the right was flipped along the X and Y and used for the "focused" image that refracted through the globe (since the globe would be in focus while the background would not).
