Straighten and retouch out artifacts. Then darken with tone curve.
step 2 of 15
Duplicate and multiply layer 2x.
step 3 of 15
Outline window areas only. Create new layer with orange color and use new outline as layer mask.
step 4 of 15
Now added another new layer and filled with yellow. Using large soft brush in layer mask...brushed in middle areas. Then added new layer with white and did the same, only brushing in very middle.
step 5 of 15
Now outlined outer window sill area and added color on separate layer. Used 'vivid' light mode then duplicated and used 'overlay' mode.
step 6 of 15
Created another layer for middle open window areas. Filled with yellow and used 'screen' mode.
step 7 of 15
Masked only center where windows are open. Then did a motion blur to mask. 90° at about 220px.
step 8 of 15
Added bright glow with screen mode for only sides and tops of window sill.
step 9 of 15
Add shadows to window sills of window framing. Used 'multiply' mode. These were created by using mask of frames and filling with brown color on a new layer and moving them over to the right or left.
step 10 of 15
Created dancing couple by making new layer and filling with black.
step 11 of 15
Drew an outline and cut path to follow...then created layer mask to apply to black layer.
step 12 of 15
Using a standard small brush...I used the pen tool and brushed individual fly away hairs for each person. Then blurred them slightly.
step 13 of 15
Placed them under the window elements and used a new white layer on top. Loaded the selection of the couple and using a large soft brush...brushed in lightly areas along the edge to create some depth.
step 14 of 15
Now I colored the new white highlights on a new 'color' mode layer with yellow. Also added shadows of the dancers on either side of outer window area.
step 15 of 15
Darkened right and left windows with a reddish brown color on a new layer...on 'multiply' mode at about 40% opacity.
