step 1 of 11

Here I cut out the ring with the pen tool. It's not a great job but I can fix it in Post.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 1

step 2 of 11

I hit CTL+J on a PC (Do I really have to tell MAC users what this means?) to make a copy of the ring layer. From there, I selected Edit from the menu and picked the Transform tool. Hold the shift key and pull a handle to resize and make it a little smaller. Reposition in the correct spot. Hit CTL+J to make a new one........Rinse and repeat as needed.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 2

step 3 of 11

I found something that looked like a face in the source. I didn't want to use the dog just because I'm weird like that.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 3

step 4 of 11

I was going to make each eye seperate by cloning and transforming but I didn't like the way the right eye looked so I copied the left eye on to a new layer and flipped it horizontally in the Edit menu and made it look like a right eye should.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 4

step 5 of 11

Copied the middle section and began making some type of breathing apparatus using the same techinique as in SBS 2.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 5

step 6 of 11

Began painting eyes in.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 6

step 7 of 11

Bring in the Great Pyramids.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 7

step 8 of 11

I used the elliptical tool and the shift key to draw a circle around the pyramid source. I selected the inverse of that and hit the delete key. I used the Sphereize filter under Filter/Distort/Sphereize set at 100%, repositioned, and reduced the opacity of the layer until it looked like a reflection, I hope.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 8

step 9 of 11

I used the same Pyramid source to make Mother Earth below and some background mountains and stuff.

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 9

step 10 of 11

After making a couple more ships which I forgot to mention in the last SBS, I painted in a white trail which I ended up erasing most of, blurring and reducing opacity of the layer. I wanted it to be subtle but not too subtle. You know what I mean?

Creation of Pit Stop: Step 10

step 11 of 11

Touch Up. I think this would look really good if I had another 3 weeks to work on it. Cheers!
