added a new grey layer (overly mode) used the burn/dodge tool to add some shadows and details

added the BG

blurred the BG

added some adjustment layers and used masks to expose parts of them
used:
1: two curves layers - one to make the shadow part and the other to brighten the sun light part
2: color balance - only on the owl, to match it with the BG color
3: hue saturation - to darken and take out a bit of the dark parts color
4: color fill - with channel blue mask on soft light mode, to create atmosphere

1: merged all layers to a top one did high pass filter
layer on overlay mode
added black mask and exposed only the eyes to make them sparkle a bit
2: added b&w adjustment layer to contrast the image a little bit
layer on soft light and low opacity (about 35%)
3: merged all layer to a top one
followed the owl lines with dodge tool, to farther merged it to the BG
4: to farther more merge the owl to the BG, again merged all layer to a top one
selected the owl image and blurred it
added a mask and exposed the center of the owl
5: added a color balance adjustment layer on all the image
created channel mask to expose parts of the image
