This guide was made for entry: DOC In Contest: rigging
step 1 of 14
this is my character, modeled in maya from primitives like cubes and cilinders
step 2 of 14
here;s the rig.. truster controls, ik handels for hands, eye controls
step 3 of 14
the sphere u see behind the elbows are my pole vector contraints. They help giving a more natural movement to the elbows and not a snapping movement
step 4 of 14
this is my eye's rig.. as u can see i'm using an aim contraint for the eyes. Every eye can be moved independent
step 5 of 14
i made a set driven key for the retina control. I added a secondary atribute to my eye control rig and keyed it to a ramp shader that was applied to the eyes..
step 6 of 14
this is my retina control on the 0 value.. on the previous step u saw it on the max value of 5
step 7 of 14
this is the pose i chose
step 8 of 14
this is an example of how the weights were painted.. and how the chest joint is affecting the chest
step 9 of 14
this is my final scene, used a directional light and some final gather
step 10 of 14
the seringe was modeled from a cilinder. Thought it would be a nice touch
step 11 of 14
the earth was done from a sphere with the bump and color map. i then added another sphere with the cloud map and set the transparency to 40%, I then added a sphere gas container with a blue gas and set a glow and ramp shader from black to light blue
