Fountain chopped to be used as container for tulips. It will be given color change or reddish purple tones.
step 2 of 14
Here the basic flower shapes are formed from cup shaped fountain part.Liquify warp tool was used.
step 3 of 14
Flower parts are refined with smudge, paintbrush, and eraser tools.
step 4 of 14
Flower parts are joined together - blossom, stems and leaves. Small bud-like blossoms are scaled to small size and added to a stem at different angles using rotate tool. Each little blossom will be smudged to blend into stem. Burn and dodge tools add highlights and shadows after being placed in arrangement.
step 5 of 14
The basin of fountain was used to make this background pattern and saved in edit/define pattern. A section was lassoed from basin, then duplicated and merged into a single square to be saved as pattern.
step 6 of 14
Pattern has been placed on a new canvas, then a gradient layer placed over it and opacity lowered to allow pattern to show through. Difference cloud will be added to background also. As image progresses, different gradients will be tried until pleasing background color is found.
step 7 of 14
The basin of fountain is used again to shape pod-like shapes with liquify warp, then smudge tool pulls out the shapes for stamens to be added.
step 8 of 14
Tulips have been placed into pot at varying lengths, trying to set up a pleasing pattern for the arrangement. Rotate tool and scale tool are used to vary the flowers.
step 9 of 14
Purple flower clusters are added, also at varying lengths, rotating to vary directions of placement.
step 10 of 14
Some extra leaves are duplicated, and some of these are warped into wider and some bent-over shapes which are added throughout arrangement before any merging of flowers is done.
step 11 of 14
Table cover is created from a section of one of the fountain basins which is liquify warped to get an interesting, flowing design. The container will be partially erased at bottom to give the impression that it is behind a fold in this new table cover.
step 12 of 14
Lights for behind arrangement are created from the fountain part shown. Purple is used to fill in sides and will be lightened using the dodge tool to look as if light is coming from inside. Stems of lights are added with hard brush tool, then burned near bottom and dodged at top of stems where light hits them.
step 13 of 14
Crackle layer is added over background. Pattern was made using cracked mud source by emiK at pxleyes.com.
