I started with adding a hole in the wall. I copied this background layer several times and moved each layer some pixel, to achieve the effect of having a hole in an actual wall. I merged all these layers, opened the blending modes, used a pattern overlay and satin.
step 2 of 5
I made the wallpaper after that. I placed stripes next to each other and coloured them red and black, the blending mode is set to color burn. For the chair I used a texture, overlayed it and set the blending mode for the lower part to multiply and for the upper part to subtract.
step 3 of 5
The carpet was done with copying my carpet source several times, merging these layers and use the
perspective transform tool. After that I added a black to red gradient overlay over it. I added the woman and did some color correction on her, so she blends better with the scene.
step 4 of 5
I coloured the dots on her dress red, so she fits better in her red and black room. I also added the background and extended the sky on the left side with cloning. I cut the tree in the middle, mirrored it and did some cloning and warping to get rid of the symmetry.
step 5 of 5
I added the other objects, some shadows and did some touch ups. In the end I used a gaussian blur overlay to give it a bit of a glow.
