This guide was made for entry: Punk Wig In Contest: wigs
step 1 of 14
In the content library there are a number of prebuilt showcases of the hair plugin, I went here first but only to get the head.
step 2 of 14
I deleted everything from the scene, including the textures and light set ups etc so that all I was taking prebuilt was the head.
step 3 of 14
This was all I was left with and so I was ready to start making my own piece.
step 4 of 14
I selected the polys that I wanted to add the hair to.
step 5 of 14
Went to the hair module and added the basic hair.
step 6 of 14
This is what happens when you add the hair, before any alterations.
step 7 of 14
I took out the tools for modelling hair and placed them in the scene so I could start molding the shape I wanted.
step 8 of 14
Using a mixture of tools I formed this weird quiff thingy that I liked. the tool you can see me using here is the brush
step 9 of 14
This was how it looked without changing the texture at all.
step 10 of 14
This is a bunch of the windows that I altered in the hair material in order to create the new hair style, basic adjustments include increasing the number of steps for smoother hair, varying the length, reducing the thickness and increasing the count, changing the colour's adding a slight frizz and curl.
step 11 of 14
The count was waayyyyy to low and it just looked bad, so...
step 12 of 14
increased the count to 55,000
step 13 of 14
Added infinity curve, used a plane and a bend modifier
