Brightened with shadow/highlight and used the burn and dodge tool.

Bumped up the saturation just a bit.

Hue/saturation set to colorize with hue set to 36.

Set the hue/saturation layer to softlight and reduced opacity to 50%.

Desaturated image, used gaussian blur at 28 and set to invert.

Desaturated image set to softlight and opacity reduced to 50%.

New layer above all previous layers. Used high pass filter set at 10.
step 9 of 10
Set high pass filter layer to softlight at 100%.

Darkened background and used layer mask to paint out background.
