After masking the gazebo, used bar parts to make walls. The floor is made with the platform floor, turned 90 clockwise, with skew and perspective added to manipulate into place.
step 2 of 26
Generally put gazebo into place. Duplicated background, flipped, cut and pasted various scenery to create enough of a right-side scene needed for paths.
step 3 of 26
Change lighting of the gazebo using layer masks, paint layers, smudge tool.
step 4 of 26
To replace bush in front of gazebo, cut and paste, then erase edges with "chalk" brush setting to retain leafy shape and look.
step 5 of 26
Place girl. Adjust lighting, color, and "blur" to blend into scene.
step 6 of 26
Made banner with pen tool. Drew lines (stroke) for shadow. Using paint layers, added shadow and highlight for drape effect. "Concert Friday Night" text rasterized, warped to shape/distort to shape.
step 7 of 26
step 8 of 26
step 9 of 26
After lightly blurring all edges of gazebo, banner, and girl to blend, added one more paint layer with eyedropper-picked background color to create mist over top of gazebo.
step 10 of 26
IGNORE THE BACKGROUND in the previous steps. Here's how I composed the new background... first, the five source photos. One of my backyard (pine tree), the other four from the picturesque grounds of the Royal Crest apartment complex in Warwick, RI.
step 11 of 26
Chopping the pieces. Vary the size and orientation, masking, balancing the light, color balance and vibrance. This is a chop of the background treetops.
step 12 of 26
Changing the sky
step 13 of 26
Adding green mask
step 14 of 26
Adding light mask
step 15 of 26
Adding dark mask. Then blend, add, subtract using masks, and additional paint layers
step 16 of 26
Creating sunbeam with soft white brush. Shift key down to create straight line
step 17 of 26
Smaller beam, made same way. Made a few more same way.
step 18 of 26
Flowers created with a shape brush, painted pink and dark pink on separate layers. Black centers Gaussian blurred. Duplicated layer, resized, darkened for placement beside gazebo. This image shows the reflections, which I forgot to capture. Duplicated the gazebo, banner and some background, flipped vertically, applied ocean ripple, trimmed with eraser to fit pond area, turned down opacity, lowered brightness.
