Get the picture of the source image.

Apply cloud different and adjust blending mode.

Change blend mode to soft light.

Adjust color by having a gradient layer over the original background.

Make more color adjustments according to desired.

This are the bits from the source image I basically used in every element of my so-called dream.

Arrange the raw bits of picture pieces to create the fictional squid.

To create the plant, I also use the same elements used for the squid.

The other element on the background was created by drawing a crescent shape using the shape tool.

Duplicate and arrange the crescent shapes to form these plant-like elements.

Another background element that looked like eyes are from the lights of the ceiling of the source image.

Simply duplicate the line of ceiling lights.

Put all the elements together and make adjustments with the opacity and different blending modes to have this final output.
