exported to maya and adjusted the topology. I was going to make a big boulge for the mouth and i didn't had enough resolution in that area
step 4 of 45
a closeup for the retopo step
step 5 of 45
went back to zbrush and started to sculpt with the standard brush
step 6 of 45
another stop to maya to add more resolution to where i need. As a sidenote, there is a tool in Zbrush for retopology, but Maya is better and if you have GoZbrush plugin installed to your main 3D app it s very easy to switch between Zbrush and your main 3D software
step 7 of 45
made some extrusions in maya for the fingers. As it turned out later, i wasn't very happy with the fingers and made the hands separately
step 8 of 45
got back to zbrush and subdivided so i could sculpt in more detail
step 9 of 45
the progress so far. To give you a better view of your sculpted head it helps to switch between matcaps.
step 10 of 45
created the uv's with UV Mapper
step 11 of 45
decided to get my seams from ambient occlusion. You could paint where you want to attract your seams, but this worked ok
step 12 of 45
here's my 1 minute UV unwrapping. It's not a perfect result, but for the lack of work i did, it's ok. I personaly hate to UV map, so this tool it's great for me
step 13 of 45
here's my skin texture. I made another one as a subskin for subsurface scattering.
step 14 of 45
here's my subskin where i painted some vains and some skin spots
step 15 of 45
back to maya
step 16 of 45
made the hands separately
step 17 of 45
from a cylinder i made a sort of jacket and converted it to ncloth
step 18 of 45
here's my jacket
step 19 of 45
i painted the weights on the jacket, where i wanted to stick and where i wanted to be less stiff
step 20 of 45
made the same thing for the shorts
step 21 of 45
step 22 of 45
step 23 of 45
this is my dressed character.
step 24 of 45
after this i rigged my character, with a simple rig so i can pose him however i want
step 25 of 45
used interactive binding.. since it was the easiest one wit dual quaternions settings
step 26 of 45
step 27 of 45
toung
step 28 of 45
i then selected the faces i wanted hair to grow
step 29 of 45
and here's Santa..
step 30 of 45
i then setup collisions for the hair, so the hair will not penetrate the mesh
step 31 of 45
added some hair in the ear
step 32 of 45
at first i wanted to make him look at a candy jar on the top of a desk.. but changed my mind
step 33 of 45
started to model the chair
step 34 of 45
step 35 of 45
made the glasses from touruses and two spheres
step 36 of 45
step 37 of 45
step 38 of 45
i've added a poligon plan and converted it in ncloth then let it fall over the man
step 39 of 45
step 40 of 45
my setup
step 41 of 45
started to make the tooth
step 42 of 45
step 43 of 45
this is how i combined the skin shader.. on a miss fast skin shader i added the first texture for the skin and then the seccond as scatter.
The bottom part is the texture for the chair
step 44 of 45
these are all my shaders that i used
step 45 of 45
my lighting setup.
And this concludes 3 days of work.. combined aproximately 16 hours
