This is the imported .obj file, I added just two textures, a bumpy metal for the frame and a wornout leather for the cushions. These materials came from the content browser.
step 2 of 6
I created a really simple nail, no need for too much intricate detail since there will be many small nails and no close focus on any one nail. Was basic poly modeling on a cylinder.
step 3 of 6
This was a trickier step, I used a cloner object from the mograph tools and aligned the nail to the verticies and selected the top polys to be effected. Then I had to move them up a little and center them on the polys.
step 4 of 6
Did the same as in step 3 for the back cushion and added a floor.
step 5 of 6
Created the background bricks. normally I would just use planes witha brick texture but I wanted them to pop a little more so I made each individual brick a cube with a beveled edge. Then applied my brick wall texture, again from the content browser.
step 6 of 6
The lighting and camera set up was basic, I used a small blue light to fill out the area which was close to the chair. The overall light was created with a large slightly off white area light casting area shadows. The camera was positioned simply to focus on the chair.
