Masked smoke ball, warped to change perspective, and adjusted "roundness" as needed.

Flame gradient overlay applied to skull. Opacity of smoke ball turned down, and skull placed behind smoke ball.

Isolated foreground tree to add fire light only to it and not surrounding greenery. Changed exposure of entire image to darken forest.

Lighting for gypsy was done on several separate layers. This is a close up of the original (early) yellow, orange, and white layers of light applied to the gypsy.
