Sketch the composition of the one-eyed golem in the middle with the bg turned into some skin (pale orange) color.
step 2 of 16
Color concept, the BG turned into bluish first so I could clearly drawn the object easily. Blocking the shapes in the Multiply Mode then new layer with Normal Mode to add a few highlights.
step 3 of 16
Refine the hard edges with smudge tools then brush it again then smudge it again...
Over & over & over again...
step 4 of 16
Creating the basic shading of the eyes.
step 5 of 16
The eye lid.
step 6 of 16
Done playing with the eyes for a second, trying the COLOR BALANCE.
Like it when the dull colors turn into something dark!
step 7 of 16
This set of my custom brushes; the techno circles in hi-resolution pixels.
I got them from my partner at Entertainment Design Studio in California City several years ago. Extremely useful for making such a delicate eye design.
step 8 of 16
Here's the example of the techno circle brush.
I also called it a stamp brush.
Clear Vectored lines in 1250 pixels accuracy.
step 9 of 16
With some settings from Blending Options, I got this inspiration to make the eye tron-like.
step 10 of 16
I render everything (characters), got no time left to post... Doh~!
step 11 of 16
Began to add the simple strokes to the background.
Detailing quite a bit the golem.
step 12 of 16
Detailing the sky, add some filter to it, minor details to the golem & pxl characters.
step 13 of 16
Using COLORIZE!
GOT NO TIME LEFT!
step 14 of 16
Lots of filter, smudges, brushes, flattened, filter again. Lost in time... Lol.
step 15 of 16
Color Balance Settings.
Shadows: Cyan -20, Yellow +50
Midtones: Red +50, Green + 10, Yellow -50
DONE!
step 16 of 16
Finalize; THE TRON EFFECTS! I would like to share this techniques in my tutorial. Wait for it!
