After chopping original source, image is being changed into flying image using the liquify warp tool.
step 4 of 12
Here more liquify warp changes have been made.
step 5 of 12
Front part of image is moved using lasso tools to be the tail. This part will be duplicated, scaled smaller for section of tail in back layer.
step 6 of 12
Tail has been moved, and wing is now duplicated and flipped horizontally for other side of body.
step 7 of 12
Edges of wings, tail and body have been fine-tuned using eraser and smudge tools. Mouth and eyes are made larger with liquify warp, then eyes are painted in with brush tools, and mouth is darkened with burn tool.
step 8 of 12
On a new canvas which has been made higher, the background scene is set in at same resolution, the airbrushing is started on top, matching to bottom colors.
step 9 of 12
With airbrushing finished at top of image, the sea king is brought into scene, scaled and rotated into position.
step 10 of 12
From my pattern file, a pattern layer of reflections under water is applied over entire image, then will be reduced in opacity to 30 % and the some of that erased away especially in foreground area. The sea king is back toward where ship is located, so will not be as clear as foreground.
step 11 of 12
Vortex is now added at top, with edges blended into scene, and opacity also cut down.
step 12 of 12
