Basic Box modeling at first to build up the general shape of the head. Takes a lot of work to get it exact but keep going and undoing and then going again.

Once put into hyper nurbs its amazing the difference that takes place.

Used an extracted disc to create the teeth and manually made the tongue with a box poly maniuplated and then hyper nurbs.

Using cloners I made a bunch more teeth that moved back into the head and flipped onto the other parts of the mouth. The eyes were spheres.

To create the horn its very much the same as the teeth. Take a disc and do a matrix extrude with the scale shrinking and a couple twists. Place into hyper nurbs if you wish, here the left is smoothed but I also like the right which is sharp.

The rest of the cane was simple in comparision to the head. A basic cylinder for the long body with a helix spline wrapped around it and swept with a small circle and the base point is a modified cylinder.
Lighting - None actually, using a sky object with a HDRI map and global illumination is all you need.
