Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 2

step 3 of 11

Background has all been removed using eraser tools.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 3

step 4 of 11

Sky background is now moved into layer behind our space ship.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 4

step 5 of 11

Cutout areas of 'ship' are being filled in with paint pot and brush tools. Motion blur is then added.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 5

step 6 of 11

The chopped source is used again with filter/distort/polar coordinate to create shape for center of the 'ship'.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 6

step 7 of 11

Half of the new shape created with polar coordinate is cropped, then will be duplicated, flipped and merged.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 7

step 8 of 11

Module just created for center of 'ship' has bubble pattern layer over it which has been reduced in opacity to just barely show. Rays of light are added with airbrush tool. This module has been sized to fit center of ship using scale and distort tools.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 8

step 9 of 11

This is the bubble pattern layer used on center module.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 9

step 10 of 11

Module with pattern layer is merged, color changes are made to entire ship using hue/saturation and color/balance tools.

Creation of Through Spacious Skies: Step 10

step 11 of 11

Duplicates of our ship are sized to 2 smaller sizes then reduced in brightness and contrast to set further away in space.

The rays of light emanate from a dark object, with no visible light source to provide them. It makes a somewhat hokey and visually fake effect that hurts the "fantasy" of the image.
