extrude the splines and make the ones on the ends bigger.

Use a cloner object to make several duplications of the benches (pews)

Add some cubes, located to look like steps and a raised level platform

Really simple set of 3 cubes, detail is not important as this wont be well lit or used in a closeup

A big box with filtered edges makes up the church. Take the one area for the window and do some extrudes, bevels, etc to make a window frame and then delete the poly for the glass.

Add the image from step 1 as a texture in the transparency layer and change the settings to add a little more interest.

The camera scene from the inside. I used 2 lights. 1 at 10% intensity just to brighten the inside a little. 1 as a spot to shine thru the window and onto the wall.
Also outside I added a sky object with pure luminance
