step 1 of 7

choose a nice texture, and use it as a background.
I placed it, duplicated it, so i got rid of the light place on top.
(Turned the duplicated layer upside down and softly erased the edgy parts)

Chose a gradient map to create a grungy scroll color effect, which reminds me of retro style.

Start creating random shapes in different shades of black, with some looks at batman masks at internet for inspiration. No unique picture used, just looked around for inspiration.

Finish off the batman mask

Did the same thing for the joker.

Added some text, and used grungy brushes to delete edges and make the text more distorted for a nice dramatic effect

Finally, i re-created the old batman logo (for retro reasons) and did the same thing at the logo edges, and added the text "BATMAN" in the logo, and distorted the edges there aswell.
