Random(ish) freehand spline. For the base of the tap model.
step 2 of 9
Create a small circle and then use a sweep nurbs with the circle and the spline you drew.
step 3 of 9
Once you have the shape you are happy with make the object editable and then add smaller details with little extrudes just however you want.
step 4 of 9
This base is just 2 cylinders with filtered edges and a cube.
step 5 of 9
The tap part of the faucet started as a cube and then had a series of poly modeling to create the taps. I used a "set selection" so that I could color little tabs either red or blue for hot/cold.
step 6 of 9
Cube model of the sink, added some subdivisions to the hyper nurbs would work better. Also placed a cube and cylinder which will be booled out of the sink.
step 7 of 9
Looks pretty good once in the hyper nurbs. Made a plug, its a cylinder with a few details.
step 8 of 9
a 3x3 array of planes and 2 disc planes create the lighting and reflections. These have a pure luminescence material which is set to 250%
step 9 of 9
Added a little more to the scene to make the final render complete. Sideboard, background plane and caulking.
