Starting the background. Stars are a combination of various brushes and a layer of black with a noise filter added and a hue correction.

These are texture maps created with CS5. They were mapped onto the geometries with a UVW map modifier in 3D Studio Max.

This is my model. It was made by lathing splines. To this model the textures made in Photoshop were applied using the UVW modifier. Scene is lit with an Omni light.
