The orb is simply a perfect sphere with a luminace material. Make the colour a little yellow and put the brightness to 250%
step 2 of 12
The magnetic containers start as a cube and have been modelled in a couple of ways to make them look like this. They have a basic metal material. This tab shows reflection.
step 3 of 12
This is just that same object after it is placed into a hyperhurbs. It also shows more material options.
step 4 of 12
Use an array object to make the duplications in a circle.
step 5 of 12
Short cylinders for the receivers in the same array formation and a more decorated center plate.
step 6 of 12
A atom array on a sphere which was triangulated.
step 7 of 12
Scene so far. Also shows the visible light that was placed within the center spheres. This light was visible and creates the fog/ chunks of light.
step 8 of 12
Render thus far without base plate.
step 9 of 12
Landscape. Used the landscape object and played with the settings until I got it looking the way I wanted. It started off as a square but it had 1,000,000 polys so I deleted as much as would not be in the final camera scene.
step 10 of 12
The green thing is the camera, this shows the angle and the placement of it. I also added a sky object with one of my own images. This creates the reflections on the magnets.
step 11 of 12
My own pictures used for one texture
step 12 of 12
Render settings.
Global illumination on medium settings. This allows the luminance sphere in the middle to act as a lightsource.
Anti Aliasing on 4x
Ambient Occlusion on default medium settings.
