To create the leather compressible picture area. Start with 2 rectangles 1 slightly smaller. With a little soft rounding on the edges.
step 2 of 13
Using a mograph cloner make the rectangles duplicate and scale down a little. Only about 98% scale.
step 3 of 13
When these rectangles are ready you need to make the individual objects and order them so that the follow in a flow. Then place these in loft nurbs. This shot is an earlier version of this but I adjusted it a little later. Just small tweaks.
step 4 of 13
Unforunately I did the lense in one go and did not take steps along the way. Starting with a basic cylinder make continual small adjustments using extrude and bevel tools to make the lense slowly build up.
step 5 of 13
I added some more small details such as the screws. Also used a sphere for the lens on front. Size adjusted accordingly.
step 6 of 13
This is the thus far shot of the two completed pieces. You can see here the improvements to the leather part.
step 7 of 13
The front wooden box part. Made from a series of cubes edited accordingly with some details added in such as the brass plates and screws.
step 8 of 13
Same idea as the front plate.
step 9 of 13
View from the other side.
step 10 of 13
Added more details. The hinge and the hooks for keeping the lens end up.
step 11 of 13
All together.
step 12 of 13
Made the cloth by putting cubes around with colliders on them. Then dropped the cloth and let it settle.
step 13 of 13
This is the environment. 3 point lighting. Camera and a sky object with a HDRI from the texture pack of a room.
All textures are from the content browser or self made.
