I began by drawing the outline of the face, eyes, mouth and hair very lightly, with the help of faint lines across the page and down the middle to keep aspects of the face matching, e.g., the eyes at the same level and at an even distance.
step 3 of 8
I then drew lines going downwards for the hair (curved - in line with the shape of the head) and short lines at the parting of the hair.
step 4 of 8
I then drew more detail on the eyes, nose and mouth.
step 5 of 8
Using colouring pencils, I started adding colour to the drawing.
step 6 of 8
I then added more detail to the right eye and mouth. Darkened the background and neck using pencil and colouring black pencil.
step 7 of 8
I added more colour to the drawing (hair, face and background), did some shading on face and dark streaks in hair.
step 8 of 8
For the final step I added more red and black to the drawing so that hair, eyes and lips stood out more.
