i started off with a chamfer box gave it smooth edges punch a few holes in it and got a idea to make a pc
step 2 of 15
now that i have a PC in mind i made a CD drive. not the best in the world but its not that bad. i used the circle tool in shapes to create it and gave it volume. them cloned it made it smaller to Boolean the bigger one giving it a smooth finish
step 3 of 15
now for the speakers . probably the simplest thing to do. made a cone , flipped it and gave the edge a lip then created cylinders to punch 5 holes in the lip in a circle like screws.
step 4 of 15
now for the vents. i may sound strange but this was not easy. for my first time making vents this small. i was working with high poly geometry. pulling one side of one face of the poly to a angle. one there. the shell modify tool is your best friend. it will come in handy later for the volume lights to work
step 5 of 15
this is the turbo smooth applied to it and i decided to put a random object behind the vent that would barely be seen. the helix would work perfectly
step 6 of 15
make sure the helix goes from front to back. as it will have a vray light mesh
step 7 of 15
put a ball in the cone and select the inner cone part bust above the ball and detach as element. this will have a glow material as well
step 8 of 15
the power button is simple make a cylinder and delete the parts that are inside except the inner circle
step 9 of 15
the cord was a line and i gave it depth and adaptive smoothing
step 10 of 15
now for the volume lights i was using a plugin scatter pro 1A i used standard lights and applied the effect then changed the color and the step size is 50 a easy way to use volume light with out using the sun every time
step 11 of 15
i used the vray floor
step 12 of 15
now i put every thing togeather
step 13 of 15
the floor texture and added noise and a little color
step 14 of 15
i made this myself in photoshop with a plugin ndo2 and used it as a bump map
