The airship consists of a "sphere" which was shaped via the FFD3X3 modifier and and selected vertices streched and shaped. The tail fins are "box" geometries.

The ship is made of various basic geometric shapes. The hull is a box shaped via FFD modifier.

For the water I used a plane with Mental Ray Pro Material "water" texture. The daylight system is MR sun and sky.

Post render mods made in Photoshop. Created a wake for the ship used pen tool to make selection and then applied a ripple filter. Some dodge and burn to this. A curves adjustment layer added.
