Ok, so here's a pic of myself (I hate these Biometric Passes), and a caricature I draw myself... Until now, the caricature looks not so far away from reality...
step 2 of 11
So I put the image as Background into Blender, and start modeling the head:
I used a simple Box with a few subdivide-modifiers, plus some "Loop Cut and Slides". I gave it the shape of my caricature. At this point, you may need to make some subtile changes, to get a more accuracy shape... Sometimes what looks good on paper isn't anymore on screen, so you'll have to work it over.
step 3 of 11
For the hair, I created a plane, deleted 3 of the 4 vertexes, and start modeling by using extrude on the single point.
step 4 of 11
The ear is made like the hair, starting from a single vertex and extruding this one 'till you get the shape of the ear...
step 5 of 11
The body is a cube with a subdivision-modifier, a few loops and cuts, and finally extruding different parts for the arms and the legs.
step 6 of 11
The hand is a squeezed sphere with a lattice as modifier
step 7 of 11
The shoe is also made from a cube with subdivision-modifier and some "loop cut and slide"
step 8 of 11
So this is myself... :-)
step 9 of 11
The pencil now. It's a good old "Staedtler - HB2" - made in germany. For this, I created a 6 sided cylinder... Nothing extra to say here... Just add a few "Loop Cut and Slide" and there you are...
step 10 of 11
So I put all together in a scene, and rendered with Internal Render engine...
step 11 of 11
And last but not least:
I draw a line in Photoshop with pencil tool. This is just a detail, but I like those little details :-D
