My own photo - source for roof, chimney and windows.
step 2 of 11
Source photo for trees
step 3 of 11
Background landscape photo source
step 4 of 11
Chopped boot is put on a new canvas along with roof which has been chopped from the house source, then edit/transform/horizontal reversed. The laces are cloned in order to give the look of being laced all the way to the top. Roof will be adjusted with perspective tool.
step 5 of 11
Windows and doorway have been chopped from the house source. Each window has been edited with edit/transform/distort tool to fit to the shape of the shoe, and also scaled to fit perspective of the image. Entry door was very difficult to get perspective right, and roof was cloned to fit shape of the boot.
step 6 of 11
Old woman is created with a brush tool, then she will be made more dimensional by using the Layer/layer style/emboss tool, adjusting the embossing to make her darker on side away from light source. She is on a new layer so that I can adjust her on the steps if necessary.
step 7 of 11
Landscape is added on layer behind the boot.
step 8 of 11
More details are added to roof and windows, then children are being drawn in with the brush tool.
step 9 of 11
More children are added, then trees are chopped, resized and placed on layers both behind and in front of boot. Edged of tree leaves are carefully trimmed then slightly blurred using the blur tool at 50%.
step 10 of 11
Trees have been manipulated to create pleasing balance to image, dodge and burn tools have been used to shadow areas in shade, boot and grass areas have been merged so that grass and flowers can be blended to better give appearance that the boot is sitting down in the grass.
step 11 of 11
Couldn't resist adding this adventuresome child as she floated away, and another falling out of a tree. That poor old woman!!!!!
